Beware the Powerful

Beware those who seek power.  Even a member of a rural school board will become dangerous if it feels threatened.  And those who seek power tend to be the insecure among us.

Speaking truth to power is important, but dangerous.  So pick your fights carefully!  Tell a teacher she misspelled “potato” and she labels you a troublemaker – tell a Senator the same thing, you become “impudent,” a “communist,” a “birther” or some other disgusting being.  Can you imagine a world in which being a ”Truther” is a bad thing?

Allies may join you, but beware!  Many of them are no real help.  They bring their identity and sexual insecurities into your battles.    Good luck handling that!

Taking the “Red Pill” is a good thing.  You begin to see and know what’s really happening.  But you’ll become frustrated with those who don’t see what you see.  Take heart, though - there are others!

Be careful out there!

Wal-Mart’s Altered Meat

Meat at Wal-Mart is Altered – be Careful!

I am not anti-Wal-Mart. I buy their clothing, household goods, computer items, vitamins, and groceries. They are high quality, the price is always right, it’s one-stop shopping, and you can easily return items that you don’t like.

However, a year or so ago I noticed the label on their beef cuts. In tiny print, it says “enhanced with 15% solution”.

I asked the meat department head what the label meant. I was especially concerned what “solution” was. After all, embalming fluid is a “solution”!

She’d never noticed it before and was as mystified as I. She finally shrugged and said they’d just started buying meat from another supplier.

I bought a package of seemingly nice cuts of steak. After grilling one, I took one bite and could eat no more. It tasted rubbery and artificial – like Soylent Green must taste!

The store said I could return the uncooked remainder for a full refund. On the way there, I met a coworker. He said he liked Wal-Mart meat even with solution injected. He’s rather destitute, so I just gave the package to him.

My friend happily took the package home.

A few days later, my friend brought some home-made stew to work. He offered me some. Once I took a bite, I knew he’d used my rejected steak for it.

Feh! It tasted horrible!

I was polite to my co-worker, but I threw out the stew as soon as he left the room! What a waste of good water, spices and vegetables!

Since then, I have noticed that WM chicken is a bit rubbery. The breasts are very large for a normal chicken, indicating at least some weird breeding. The ground round seems OK. Neither it nor the chicken is marked as “enhanced with solution.” So, I continued to buy both chicken and ground beef at WM.

But lately, I read online that the USDA doesn’t require chicken nor ground beef to be marked if it is “enhanced.” I guess it’s another case of a federal watchdog agency helping to con us, instead of protecting us.

So now, I’ll buy all my meat at a local store that cuts its own meats. Their butcher assured me there’s no coloring nor “solution” in their products, not even their salmon.

In my small town it’s a hassle commuting to more than one grocery store, but my health and peace of mind are worth it!

What do you think?

Global Warming is A Scam – Here’s How You Can Tell

Do you believe in Man-Made Global warming?  Well, you shouldn’t!

Why? Just Use Logic.  You don’t need a huge think-tank to see through the propaganda.  Here’s how to figure out the truth for yourself:

1. Have you looked at your own outside thermometer? Record lows and snow storms abound.

2. Seventh grade physics shows that CO2’s molecular weight makes it very heavy. It can’t rise high enough to cause the greenhouse effect.

Yes, there is a greenhouse effect, but it’s mostly caused by water vapor! H2O is much lighter than CO2.

3. College freshman statistics will show you that the error rate in temperature samples used is greater than the claimed temperature rise.

4. Glaciers in Greenland have recently been shown to be getting thicker, not thinner.  Same with Antarctic ice, which is never mentioned by warming alarmists.

5. Stories of polar bears declining are lies, according to our government’s own figures.

6. CO2 is plant food! When the earth was young, there was very little free oxygen. It was poisonous to the few life forms here (primitive bacteria and plants). It increased to today’s levels partly as exhaust from plants and partly from a few comets “visiting.”

7. Clearing of forests happens only where governments own the forest. Private ownership of forests results in cyclical growing and cutting. They don’t waste the economic value of their own land! Take a look at the huge forests in Georgia and Florida, owned by Weyerhauser & other lumber companies.

8. Sunspot activity is in a cycle in which it reduces warming radiation from the sun. This is actually causing a cooling cycle.

9. Follow the money:  The big scares usually mean big profits for companies connected to governments.  Of course, government itself gets further into our pockets that way.  E.g. GE owns NBC, which is scaring us. But GE makes big dollars from sales of generators, nuclear, windmills, and solar to governments.  Have you noted NASA even faked last October’s numbers?  Why?  They get to build their budgets – they even have a satellite ready to “observe” unproven Global Warming.

10. Those who want US to completely change our lives make themselves immune from these changes.  How about Al Gore still driving his SUVs, owning several energy inefficient HOMES, plural?  He tells us to stop using so much gas, while he is private-jetting around to give big money speeches?

11. We’re supposed to forget similar false fears. Many of the same companies made big money off the “ozone layer” scam. Remember that one? It has also proven false. But, the media which scared us about it has remained silent. Instead, they come up with a new scary theory.  What happened to “Acid Rain?”  Well, the “crisis” disappeared when they discovered the largest source were catlle ranches!   Ranchers are too connected to mess with, I guess.   And about 7 years ago, these same government-connected scientists and insiders were trying to scare us with the coming ice age. Remember that?

12. Volcanoes and the ocean are far larger sources of CO2 and other “greenhouse” gases, including chlorine compounds.  Many, many, many multiples of the amounts we exhaust.  And what about the poisons emitted by making solar panels?

13. The same agencies that are trying to scare us would profit from increased taxes and fees.  I am very skeptical when someone – especially a government insider – is trying to scare me and grab my wallet at the same time.

Fear is used to turn off the logical part of your brain. It makes you an easier “mark.”

So, beware of the scare! Don’t believe “officials” just because of their title.

Just think for yourself! Please!

Our “Justice” System at Work

I got a ticket for parking in a space reserved by the government on private property – aka a “Handicapped Zone.”  The sign was hidden as was a cop, just waiting for someone to not see it.

I wanted to aske the cop about it when I saw him writing the ticket (I never left my car’s side). He quickly left the ticket and ducked inside a restaurant, probably for some freebie or another.

I went to court, after researching the requirements for marking the zone, none of which had been followed.  I had some good questions for the lying officer.  He tried to lie and say the space had been repainted.  I had photos with dates and witnesses!

I lent my copy of the MV code to the prosecutor, who was remarkably unprepared.  I know better now!

I presented my case so well an attorney came to compliment me on my case… as I was paying the fine!  You see, the “judge” accepted all my evidence and reading of the law.   She acknowledged the cop lied, then said that in spite of all that, I should have known better (gavel) guilty!

My first run-in with the “justice’ system. Feh!

Their motto, instead of “In God we Trust,” should be “We Want Your Stuff!”

If I Ruled Pittsburgh – Reply

From: Daniel

Subject: Re: If I Ruled Pittsburgh

Sirs and Mesdames,

I cringed as I read Tim McNally’s “If I Ruled Pittsburgh.”  Why did that genie of his go back into his bottle, rather than grant McNally’s wish?

I’m sure McNally meant his comments light-heartedly, but with me it struck a discordant note.  There are too many people trying to “Rule Pittsburgh” already!  Sadly it’s true in most other cities, including mine.

Mr. McNally echoes a common sentiment:  Pick a pet project or idea, possibly Arts, Sports or “The Children.”  Then, offer a free-sounding solution.  One that appears we’d get something for nothing.  McNally doesn’t reach into his own pocket.  He hopes that “we” will benefit; someone else will pay, usually “the rich,” “the corporations” or “the government.”  But really, it always trickles down to more expensive government and our directly or indirectly paying additional taxes.

Freebies don’t just appear with a City Council magic wand.  There’s no “Pot o’ Gold.  Costs, plus the usual government “handling charges” come from the wallets of working people like us!

Don’t we pay enough taxes already?  Aren’t they spent on enough programs which benefit a few, at the expense of the many?  Aren’t Pennsylvania workers already in enough of a financial bind?

A better gauge of such programs is not how pleasant they sound, but the pain their funding causes.
For instance, divide the cost of Mr. McNally’s Museum and Arts programs by $5, the cost of a meal.  Then, judge each by “how many meals is that?”  If his ideas cost $3 million, that’s 600,000 meals!

Let’s remember the freebies come from someone’s pockets.  If you realize you’re taking food out of people’s mouths, it’s harder to “Rule” with such generosity, isn’t it?

I know why McNally’s genie went back into the bottle:  He saw his 2007 tax bill!

Sincerely,
Daniel

The Myth of the “Social Contract”

Whenever someone wants you to do something odious for “The Collective,” and you resist, they’ll try to use guilt. They often bring up a thing called a “Social Contract.” By mentioning it, they hope to make you feel guilty for violating something vague, yet filled with the smell of duty.

There is no such thing as the Social Contract.

First, what is a contract? It is an agreement, entered into by two or more parties, to exchange one thing for another, objects, money, or a service of some kind. Both parties must have a meeting of the minds, the contract, even if oral, must be clear to both, and both parties must be able to enter into a contract (be of sound mind, have the authority to do so, etc).

Finally, a contract is agreed upon in some kind of venue, so there’s a way to judge if someone hasn’t lived up to his end, and to urge that contractor to either pony up his end, or give some other kind of compensation.

In the case of the Social Contract, all but one of these things are missing.

1. The “things or services” to be rendered are vague. In fact, they usually change depending upon what the speaker wants YOU to do. Sometimes, they want you to pay more taxes, sometimes to “give back” to society, whatever that is. What is this “give back,” anyway – have you’ve taken anything you don’t deserve?

2. Who is doing the bargaining on the side of the collective, i.e. “Society?” Again, the speaker usually holds himself out to be representative of some vague group whom you purportedly owe something. Who, if anyone, does he really represent? Usually just his own desire to instill guilt in you, or more likely, to ease his own guilt by transferring some of it to you.

Usually, though, the Social Contract card is played by someone who’s losing an argument about what, if any, duties we free individuals should have to some faceless collective.

3. What recourse do WE have if we don’t get OUR side of the contract? After all, a contract is an exchange of some kind, right? So, if we are short-changed by “society,” what is our recourse to get THEM to “give back” to us?

4. Where and when did I agree to this “contract?” is usually brought up in a conversation, as if it’s already agreed upon. So, where’s my signature? What oral affirmation did I give and when? If I am “born into” this contract, as many collectivists would say, how was my competency determined? Was I conscious when I “agreed?” Was I still moist from the womb?

5. What exactly are the unambiguous terms of this “contract?” Where can I go to refer to them to refresh my memory?

6. What is the term of this contract? Does it expire? Is it ever updated? When will I be asked if I agree to the new terms of it?

The only contract attribute which really is there is one side’s desire to receive something from you. In return, there might be a vague promise to do “something” for the collective in return. However, even our Supreme Court has held that there is no duty for the collective toward the individual.

Think of this next time you’re asked “to do for your country.”

They usually mean they want you to “do” for them!

Letter to Sad Anna

This is a letter I wrote to a beautiful but depressed YouTuber. I’m posting it here because it may apply to so many young people and adults today. I hope something I said will ring true to you.

Dan

- – - – -

Dear Anna,

I’m new to both YouTube and MySpace, so please excuse my sort of clunky on-line lingo.

I looked at a couple of your videos and had to respond.

I am an older guy, 60 yrs old! Please don’t let that scare you. I’m not a stalker, etc. One of my dreams is to pass on some of what I’ve learned over the years about life, to younger people… I’d have loved to know “then” what I know now! No older adult really could relate to me, though.

Your video on spammers made me a little sad. You seem so sensitive and beautiful inside (and outside). Yet, you have let these ugly words of sadder people hurt you. You mention suicide at one point. What a waste that would have been!

I once heard that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I think I’d only consider it if I had painful terminal cancer, etc. With my luck, though, they’d find a cure the day after my funeral!

I watched your “Bubble” video, the one with the scary horse on the wall behind you. I think it was a horse, or big dog, with maybe blood dripping from its mouth? I hope I’m wrong!

Anyway, I really liked the song. You sang it from the heart and it was soft and soothing. I think it’s better than a lot of stuff that’s on the radio these days. It had a nicer message, too. So, stick with the music, whether you hit it big or not.

Your style reminded me of this guy, in a good way, though:

http://www.hihowareyou.com

He was REALLY psychotic, yet loving. I don’t think you are really psychotic, BTW. Interesting choice of name, though.

Hitting it big is very much a profit thing for the people who really get the benefit of the Celebrity of the Week, anyway. They chew ‘em up and spit ‘em out. I have friends who are among those… some are dead now.

OK, not to depress you! I attached a video of a pet bird I adopted from a bad home. She is playing a game she invented, a form of peek-a-boo. I attached it to keep you cheerful during all this seriousness.

So, the big idea I’d like to pass on to you for today is, see if you can focus more on who YOU think you are and what YOU think your good points are. This might sound corny, but I know from my own experience that there is a God and he loves us all… a lot! Yes, he even loves George W. Bush!

I think he’s available to give us little nudges to help us along the way. He’s done it for me, even while I was an atheist. I just slowly learned to recognize the nudges, some of ‘em, and when I do, it’s always a better choice in life that I make.

I don’t want to dwell on this, because many people are turned off by God-talk. I used to be. I’m not talking religion, either. Religion has some good thoughts, but is man-made, flawed, and usually abused to acquire power for certain people.

So, if you can let those seeds of thought grow a bit, maybe others’ words will hurt you less and less. In my case, I sort of brag that no one can insult me! Haha! It’s not always true, but usually. I worry less if someone likes me, though I’d prefer that, and have slid aside the occasional hostile person. Some of the hostile ones have even become friendly later on!

Who you are is an important thing to learn and accept. It’s also important NOT to accept others’ views of what’s important (maybe including mine!). If you develop your own scale, rather than adopting, say, Britney Spears’, you will be much stronger, believe me. Not to pick on poor Britney.

I do feel sorry for most of the so-called celebrities pushed upon us.

OK, this is long enough. I hope you got something out of it.

If you like, check out my bird videos. Maybe they’ll cheer you a bit. They always cheer me up, and I love those little animals. So, I’ll share them.

My real email is Daniel@kut-rite.net if you have any questions. I have a blog and a podcast site, too.

All the best to you,
Dan

Government Causes Price Woes (Part 1b)

Governments also ensure you’ll pay top dollar for prescriptions. Recently the Bush administration proved this by preventing citizens from getting brand-name prescriptions more cheaply from Canada.

Governments are unduly influenced in these decisions by lobbyists and donations from those with a vested interest in keeping prices high and competition low. Some of these are the AMA, drug companies, and even government agencies themselves. This is because our “legislate-whores” are for rent to the highest bidder.

Further, the government limits liability for medical malpractice and government malfeasance or negligence in providing medical substances and procedures.

Government subsidies (your money) are paid into often ineffective or even harmful research, often merely for political paybacks.

Government Causes Price Woes (Part 1a)

Health care in the US gets more and more expensive. The main reason is: Health care is rationed.

State and federal governments set limits on the number of hospitals, which ones can have specialties, such as trauma centers, how many medical schools can exist, how many students each may accept, how many students must be from favored categories of society (made up by government bureaucrats), which drugs and procedures may be used (not always the safe or effective ones).

Phony Environmentalism, Part 1

Al Gore is an expert on one thing he claims: He’s an expert on wasting carbon. He’s been a waste of carbon all his life!

Big holes in the theory of “Global Warming:”

1. They claim a global increase of about 0.1 degree per year. Since they use statistical samples to measure this, even the best sample would have an error rate of plus or minus 3 degrees. Thus, even if all their data is correct, they only know any change is somewhere between an increase of 2.9 degrees F. or a decrease of 3.1 degrees.

2. Part of the claim is based on satellite measurements of the ocean. Scientist Konrad Steffen claimed on CSPAN that orbiting satellites have measured 0.8mm rise in parts of the ocean. I challenge Dr. Steffen to accurately measure that with a ruler, let alone using two satellites hundreds of miles in the air.

3. Dr Steffen further claimed that melting water from Greenland’s largest glacier is a large part of Europe’s water supply. The implication is that Europe is losing part of its water supply due to the glacier’s accelerated melting. However, if true, the water is not being destroyed, it’s just going into the ocean faster. Europeans don’t go over and cut blocks of ice from the glacier, it melts and flows into the ocean. So, thus, however the water flows toward Europe, more water would be available.

4. The claim is global warming, but the only evidence shown so far involves the North Pole and countries near it (primarily Greenland & Norway). No one seems to be paying attention to the Antarctic, where there’s evidence of thickening ice sheets. Thus, the claim should be North Polar Warming.

5. None of these scientists has so far asserted what the ideal temperature should be, nor at what rate it’s “normal” to change and in which direction. From the geological record, we know that world temperatures have cycled quite a bit throughout history. Wasn’t Greenland once green? Wasn’t New York once covered in a glacier? If alive then, would these “scientists” have asserted the temperature should stay the same as it was then?

6. CO2 gas is heavier than air. Thus, its partial pressure at the altitudes required for a “global hothouse” is very low. How does enough CO2 get up there to cause this problem? So far, no theories have been made public.

As a footnote, this same “hole” was in the theory about chlorofluorocarbons ruining the “ozone layer.” Ozone is distributed throughout the atmosphere. Its concentration is higher at high altitudes because it’s created by the sun’s action on high-altitude oxygen. How does a chlorofluorocarbon, vastly heavier than air, get up to the lofty reaches of the ozone? No one ever made this mechanism public. Now, of course, the “ozone hole” has been debunked. But, the U.S. public has paid billions to “solve” the “problem.”

These huge logical and scientific holes, the money available for grants to any fear-monger, the silencing of critics and the quick votes to increase governmental controls based on these fears, all point to yet another scam on the citizen-taxpayer. Yawn… what else is new?
